We passed through the Christ the Redeemer tunnel deep in the Andes and crossed the land border into Argentina, with cars and buses beeping their horns as they passed the flags.
This cool metallic pod houses immigration! It was such a nice shelter from the scorching sun.
The border guards were really friendly and we didn’t have much of a wait at the border which was a pleasant surprise.
Shortly after the border we got a brief glimpse of the glaciers of Aconcagua (6,961m), the highest mountain outside the Himalayas. So exciting to see the beautiful peak. I might head back that way to do some exploring.
The highest altitude we reached on the road was 3,200m before we descended through winding valleys towards Mendoza.
I’m looking forward to steak and Malbec as soon as possible!!
